Hi, I'm Jasmine! In 2022 I graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, and I currently work as a software engineer at JPL. My interest in software and web development began in elementary school, when I began creating custom Tumblr themes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Fast-forward to today, I have a variety of experience in full-stack development, web design, and unit testing. I have had the amazing opportunity to intern with amazing companies like NASA, Code3, and Breakthrough Schools. I enjoy learning and discovering ways to create seamless user experiences using clean, efficient, and scalable code.
My interests lie in front-end development, game design, spatial computing, machine learning, and innovation of next generation platforms. Work is an ongoing education for me, and I'm always searching for opportunities to collaborate with people who are as eager to share their expertise as I am to learn. Overall, my main goal is to use my skills to create something meaningful.
This is my first portfolio website, hosted on GitHub Pages. The purpose of this page is to highlight my professional experience while simultaniously showcasing my web development skills. This website uses Unsplash to generate random background images each time the page is refreshed.
In one of my university classes, we were tasked with creating a concept for an ecommerce service and pitch our idea in a presentation. DYC is a 24-hour convenience delivery service. Because it was a communications class, I originally built the site using Wix. I liked the outcome so much, I decided to rebuild an identical version using React.
I created a web app to help students maintain organization, with the goal of having a central place where students can manage their schoolwork without having to switch between multiple platforms. It has similar functionality to apps like My Study Life, Trello, and myHomework, but it also allows for Canvas integration. This means that when students link their Canvas account, it will be able to display schedule, upcoming assignments, current grades, and more directly in the app while still allowing them to add their own assignments/tasks.
During my first semester of college, my final project for my Web Design and Image Processing class was to build a fully functional website with a topic and theme of our choosing, while also including the required components of the assignment (animations, dropdown lists, tables, etc). I created a responsive mock website for a local restaurant called Hunan Coventry.
